At Powertrain Solutions, we understand that the leading cause of issues or failure after installing a new remanufactured transmission is contamination. Proper maintenance of the transmission cooling system is crucial to prevent such issues and ensure the longevity and performance of your transmission.
Contamination often stems from the transmission cooling system not being replaced or properly cleaned and flow checked after the original transmission failure. We consider transmission coolers as particulate filters—they trap debris effectively. Modern electronic transmissions operate with much less tolerance to fluid contamination, making thorough cleaning essential.
If replacement is not possible, authorized installers with adequate equipment can flush the transmission cooler and system. “Flush in a can” is not acceptable. Proper flushing involves:
The only flush system we endorse is the Hot Flush Transmission Cooler Flusher. Customers may contact our customer service representatives to inquire about purchases—they are available to assist you.
In-line thermal bypasses should be replaced or serviced with an internal full-flow bypass kit. If a thermal bypass is provided with your packaging, it must be used, and the thermal bypass core must be returned with your transmission core, or the warranty will be void.
A warranty situation deemed to be caused by contamination from the original failure, where the transmission cooler or system was not replaced or the new cooler was installed in line or in parallel with the prior system, will void the warranty.
We recommend providing images and receipts of any replaced coolers and line arrangements directly to our customer service representatives. These images or documents will be scanned into our system for record-keeping, ensuring a smooth warranty process and optimal support.
