CORE RETURN POLICIES

CORE RETURN POLICY

This policy applies to all Powertrain Solutions customers and by purchasing you agree to comply with the conditions outlined below.

A core deposit is charged at the time of sale and is refunded to the customer after meeting Powertrain Solutions Buildability Standards. Core deposit refund is not guaranteed and is managed on a case-by-case basis.

Overview

Return Authorization (RA) is required for all cores. Return Authorization must be obtained from your account representative.

Core returns must be returned within 30 days of delivery to be eligible for full credit. Cores returned after 30 days will be charged a 25% fee (of core amount). Returns will no be accepted after 60 Days.

Core deposits are reimbursed as a credit to the customer’s account, or refund upon request after it has been received and inspected meeting Powertrain’s buildability standards to determine the amount of credit.

Cores must be returned fully assembled, drained of all fluids, identical to the part supplied and returned in the original box or packaging provided. Torque converters must also be drained and properly secured with the brackets provided.

We highly recommend that once the core is put together ready for shipment that the customer photographs the package ahead of pickup to protect against shipping liability.

BUILDABILITY STANDARDS

Powertrain Solutions Buildability Standards are in place to ensure that cores received are buildable. Cores received that do not meet the following criteria may not be eligible for credit, these may include but are not limited to:

  • Case damage
  • Severe Internal Damage
  • Excessive heat damage
  • Oil Starvation
  • Water or improper fluid contamination
  • Rust or Corrosion

CORE DEDUCTIONS AND REFUNDS

Cores that meet Buildability Standards eligible for credit may be subject to deductions that include, but not limited to the following examples:

  • Incorrect part returned – No refund
  • Missing internal or external components – 50 to 100%
  • Partial return (missing parts or hardware) – Up to 85%
  • Fluid not drained - $50 fee + additional charge per hazardous material liability
  • Missing torque converter – Up to 50%
  • Unassembled unit – Up to 50%
  • Water or foreign fluid damage – Up to 100%
  • Missing brackets or straps - $20 ea.
  • Missing pallet (if supplied) - $50
  • Damaged or Missing shipping container - $300

All deduction decisions are assessed after inspection by Powertrain Solutions and are final.

Account credits can be processed next day after inspection. Requested checks are processed at the end of the calendar month in which the core is inspected and assessed.
